ABC News affiliate KJCT in Grand Junction Colorado reports on dangerous chemicals in personal care products, and a new app from the Environmental Working Group (EWG) that you can use to avoid them.
Glad to see this topic of dangerous ingredients getting more mainstream coverage.

I have downloaded the app myself and have been playing with it to see how it performs. It is kind of fun, until you realize that your nonGMO rice has arsenic in it. Okay, perhaps I should have downloaded this sooner. I think my grocery shopping trips are going to take a little longer than normal from now on.
Unfortunately the app doesn’t have all the different products available, but still helps when you’re trying to make decisions on purchases. Overall I like this app, it’s very helpful.
And as noted by the news clip, your locally made personal care products will not be available on the app either, as most of them don’t have bar codes, such as the products offered in our store, though I’m sure they’d get a perfect rating 🙂
